“When I was studying in second grade, I got the wonderful opportunity to enroll in Bridge of Hope,” says Ektha, the daughter of a farming couple in Asia.
Who Ektha is today is largely because of her 10 years spent in GFA’s Bridge of Hope Program.
“When I joined Bridge of Hope, I got many friends and teachers with whom I could maintain a good relationship,” she remembers of her early days.
During her years at Bridge of Hope, Ektha participated in many special activities that her parents would not have been able to offer her. Sports, art competitions, cultural events, holiday programs, field trips and medical camps all contributed to Ektha’s growth as a young girl.
“Bridge of Hope provides me with the wonderful chance to visit new places and develop my knowledge,” she shares. “Bridge of Hope taught me how to maintain a healthy life. The staff conducts health care programs like medical camps and awareness programs. They also provide hygienic things to keep myself clean.”
In addition to cultivating her intellect and strengthening her health, Ektha learned to develop her inner person.
“In Bridge of Hope, I have learned good character [traits] like honouring and respecting the elders, helping the poor and obeying parents,” she explains.
The help she received enabled her to dream about future opportunities that would have seemed impossible before.
“My ambition is to become a medical doctor,” Ektha shares. “I will be honest in my work. Definitely, I will be a good doctor in society. I will help the poor people according to my ability.”
Ektha is excited to continue her journey of learning. She knows God has good plans for her life, and she trusts Him to guide her steps. She expresses her gratitude for the life-changing help she received through Bridge of Hope, saying, “I thank God from the depths of my heart.”
